OrthoIllinois Welcomes Rheumatology Specialist Matas Orentas, DO, to our Medical Team

ROCKFORD, Ill. (Jan.7, 2025)—OrthoIllinois, a leading bone and joint health care provider in 

Northern Illinois, is pleased to announce the addition of rheumatologist Dr. Matas Orentas to its 

medical team. Dr. Orentas will practice at the Elgin and McHenry clinics, enhancing the 

organization's commitment to providing comprehensive musculoskeletal care.

Dr. Orentas specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of rheumatologic conditions, 

including osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and autoimmune diseases, with particular interests in 

rheumatoid arthritis and gout. He is dedicated to fostering strong patient-physician relationships 

based on mutual trust and respect, aiming to help patients achieve more active and symptom-free 

lifestyles.

He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Loyola University in Chicago and his Doctor of 

Osteopathic Medicine from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University in 

Downers Grove. Dr.Orentas completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine, followed by a

 Rheumatology Fellowship, at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
