Big-city office traffic staged a post-Memorial Day rebound in the week ended June 4, with 10 tracked regions averaging 54.3% of their pre-pandemic attendance in the latest tracking by Kastle Systems. That was up from 51% in the prior week and came close to the peak 54.5% posted in the week ended March 5.
Based on anonymous keycard data from the security technology firm’s office property clients, all 10 tracked regions posted improvement from the prior week. Numbers were led again by the Texas cities, with Austin at 62.1%, Dallas at 62% and Houston at 61.5%.
They were followed by Chicago at 57.8%, New York at 55.1% and Washington, D.C., at 54.7%. Los Angeles was not far behind at 51.1%.
