The House and Senate were both in Springfield for the first day of business for the 104th GA following yesterday's inauguration. Work in both chambers was mostly organizational in nature with both bodies adopting their rules.
The House and Senate will both return to the Statehouse on Tuesday, January 28th. Bill introduction deadline is February 7th.
Floor Action:
HR 15, 104th GA House Rules was adopted 77-36-0. Leader Gabel said the rules were substantially similar to those of the 103rd GA. During the debate on the House floor, Leader Windhorst made a number of suggestions for the Rules compiled by his caucus.
